Grizedale to Selside bike trail

This Trail starts East of Coniston Water and towards low ridge line formed by Crag Head. The Park and Selside and concludes at High Nibthwaite.

The mountain bike trail is a typical Lake District mountain bike route a variety of rocky terrain, steep bridleways, forest tracks, roads, grassy fells with outcrops and stony access tracks. If you would like to know more about the 'Official North face Route At Grizedale Forest' click here.

Grizedale to Selside mountain bike route Setoff from the middle of Coniston take Hawkshead road East for 1.6km to the junction, nearing the head of Coniston Water. Turn Right follow the road climbing to a junction, head past Hawkshead turn and follow for 700m approx to the bridleway on the Left side at a gateway.

The bridleway now climbs South then South East through woodland areas for 1.6km to meet a woodland track near Lawson Park.
The bridleway continues (sign posted Grizedale). Follow the bridleway it climbs South Easterly to join another woodland road - this typical Lake District mountain bike route now becomes boggy. At the Woodland track turn Right and follow it South for 350m to a Left bend. The bridleway leaves the route, turn Right and continue South East follow it for 800m to near the summit.

The route continues South; follow it through the bracken for 1.1km to Low Parkamoor. From Low Parkamoor a great cycling route track heads South; the mtb route makes a brief climb and descends for 3.6km into High Nibthwaite.

At High Nibthwaite turn Right and follow it North for 8.8km down the side Coniston Water and back to Coniston.
